Verna E. Gingrich, 96, of Morton, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was born June 23, 1916, in Morton to John and Caroline (Kaufman) Gingrich.

Surviving are five nieces and nephews, Glenn (LaVerne) Hohnstreiter, Connie (Ken) Van Nattan, Marilee (Doug) Coulter, Steve (Ellen) Kennel and Ron (Karen) Gingrich; 16-great nieces and nephews; and 29 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and one niece.

She worked at R.G. LeTourneau in Peoria during World War II and then worked at Morton Pottery. She later worked at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria in central supply, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of the Morton Apostolic Christian Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years.

Services were Monday at Morton Apostolic Christian Church, with church ministers officiating. Visitation was Sunday at Ludwig Mortuary in Morton, and prior to services. Burial was at the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Apostolic Christian Restmor or Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge, both in Morton.
