The Morton Junior High School seventh-grade girls basketball team will put its perfect record on the line Saturday.

The Junior Potters (24-0) face Chicago Heights Washington (12-3) at 1 p.m. at Normal Parkside in the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 4A state quarterfinals.

The winner will meet either Chatham Glenwood (20-4) or Urbana (17-7) at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals.

Championship (7:30 p.m.) and third place (6 p.m.) games take place Thursday in Normal.

This is the first state appearance for the school at the seventh-grade girls level. The MJHS eighth-grade girls qualified for state in 2002.

The Don Swearingen-coached Junior Potters advanced to the Elite Eight with a 33-23 victory Wednesday over Normal Kingsley.
