David C. Farney, 62, of Morton, died at 6:32 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1950, in Peoria to Earl and Irene J. (Rumbold) Farney, he married Sharon K. Armbrust on May 27, 1978, in Manito. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Stephanie (Michael) Dillon and Michael Farney, both of Chicago, and Kevin (Candice) Farney of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Daniel (Mary) Farney of Morton; and one sister, Janice (Danny) Sturm of Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
He was currently employed in maintenance at Caterpillar Inc. through the URS Corporation. He previously owned and operated Farney Plumbing and Heating in Morton for 10 years.
He was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Morton.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Community United Church of Christ in Morton, with the Rev. Jeff Johnston officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
