  • On Dec. 15 from 1 to 3pm, Courtyard Estates of Peoria will host its second annual Christmas Walk.
This event will include a visit from Santa, live nativity scene, grand tours, light hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by Jimmy Binkley. Courtyard Estates of Peoria’s premiere Senior Living Community invites residents, friends, family and the entire community to take part in this spectacular holiday event.
“This event is one near and dear to our resident’s hearts. During the holiday season they look forward to welcoming the entire community into their homes as a way to give back and share in the joy of the holiday season with others. It has been really amazing to see the transformation in our retirement community as the decorations have gone up and the holiday spirits fill the air," Ashley Steward, Courtyard Estates of Peoria admissions and marketing director, said. “It’s great to be a part of such a heart warming environment and to hear such excitement for the upcoming Christmas Walk event.”
Courtyard Estates of Peoria is collaborating with Redeemer Lutheran Church’s Youth Group for this year’s live nativity scene that will be on display during this year’s Christmas Walk.
“My high school youth group is extremely pumped about getting involved with Courtyard Estates of Peoria’s Seniors," Youth Ministry Director Brian Steward said. "They are really looking forward to being able to help out with the special holiday event. This will be their first live nativity scene performance and they have really gone all out with preparing and planning for the big day!”
“We are very pleased that Redeemer Lutheran Church youth group could be a part of our community event this year. It has been great working together on the same goal of providing holiday fun for families in the Peoria area including the wonderful seniors at our facility,” said Amanda Hendricks, Executive Director of Courtyard Estates of Peoria.
“I am pleased to be able to provide the community with a unique Christmas Walk of Homes that offers entertainment at no cost to the community," Hendricks said. "Not only is this year’s Christmas Walk featuring Santa which was such a big hit last year with the families that enjoyed being able to take a keep sake picture but this year we also have the live nativity scene which will be a great addition to this holiday celebration. I look forward to another great Christmas Walk this year.”
Many Courtyard Estates of Peoria residents will have their homes available to show within the facility. A variety of baked items will be available to purchase and don’t miss out on seeing this historic building’s holiday decor. It will blow you away. All proceeds of the baked goods will be going to the Active Lifestyles Program for the residents at Courtyard Estates of Peoria. For more details about this event, call 309-674-2400.
