Frances E. Zehr, 90, of Morton, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Dec. 3, 1922, in rural Delavan to Edward and Tena (Wilts) Hubbard. She married Eugene Zehr on July 15, 1943, in Wayland, Iowa.
Surviving are her husband of Morton; one daughter, Joanne (Lonnie) Litwiller of Morton; one son, Daniel (Lynda) Zehr of Prospect Heights, Ill.; five grandchildren, Dawn Litwiller, Paige (Jerry) Hadsall, Sara (Brandon Farmer) Litwiller, Marc (April) Zehr and Jennifer (Demetri) Dimitriadis; five great-grandchildren, Timmy, Evey, Alyssa, Natalie and Ava; two sisters, Laura Larson of Pekin and Donna (Lorn) Schlappi of Mackinaw; two brothers, Lawrence (Deanna) Hubbard of Missouri and Lyle (Kathy) Hubbard of Wisconsin; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Hubbard Cotey of Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gale Hubbard and James Hubbard, and one sister, Doris Hubbard.
She attended Zoar School near Delavan, New Castle School near Mackinaw and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1941.
Frances served in the Mennonite Church 1W Service with her husband during World War II at Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Frances and Gene enjoyed many years of fishing and camping with family and friends.
She was a charter member of Trinity Church in Morton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, with Pastor Harry Ellison officiating. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Tremont.
