Shari Rich of Deer Creek received the Eureka College staff recognition award at the annual holiday dinner for faculty and staff Dec. 7.
Rich is director of applied learning and associate dean of students. She has been employed at the college since 2004.
Rich serves as a key member of the Student Programs and Services office team, supervising career services, overseeing the Durward Sandifer mentorship program, serving as the assistant director of the Ronald W. Reagan Leadership Program, coordinating community service activities and initiatives, co-advising the Student Leadership Ambassador Team and advising the Dance Team.
Rich previously served as Director of Career Services and was the program coordinator for the Organizational Leadership Degree Completion Program at the college.
Rich graduated from Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University, Macomb.
One staff award is given annually to recognize an exemplary staff member. Nominations and the selection are made by students, faculty and staff. The recognition includes cash awards for the winner’s use and for use within the winner’s department.
