Carol K. Gibson, 73, of Tremont, died at 3:36 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at her home.

 Born Nov. 12, 1939, in Pekin to George and Frances Redfern Hundt, she married Don Gibson on Aug. 17, 1958, in Pekin. He survives.

 Also surviving are one daughter, Susan Gibson of South Salem, N.Y.; four sons, Grant (Jessica) Gibson of Clarksville, Md., Tom (Teresa) Gibson of Pekin, Ken (Yvonne) Gibson of Tremont, and Kurt (Joey) Gibson of Tokyo, Japan; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Dolores (Ron) Scalf of Tremont.

 She was preceded in death by one grandson; and an infant brother, Richard Hundt.

 She was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church and Methodist Women. She worked as the church secretary and treasurer for many years and also served on the administrative council of the church.

She was one of the original organizers of the Tremont Turkey Festival. She also served as treasurer of Ladies Mt. Hope Cemetery Association and on the boards of Tremont Public Library and Tremont United Methodist Child Care. She was also employed at First National Bank in Tremont for many years.

 Her funeral was Jan. 16 at Tremont United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chet Travis officiated. Visitation was Jan. 15 at the church. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Davis Mortuary in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
