Thomas F. Drake, 58, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Morton, died at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Indiana University Medical Center following a short battle with cancer.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1954, in Decatur, Ill., to Andrew and Eileen (Luka) Drake. He married Debra J. Coppenger on July 26, 1974, in Pensacola, Fla.
He is survived by wife, Debbie; children, James (Tonya) Drake of Winchester, Mass., and Cindi (Brad) Lacey of Avon, Ind.; and his grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Eliana and Andrew. Tom is also survived by his father, Andrew Drake of Morton, Ill.; and sisters, Sharon (Harry) Schirding of Petersburg, Ill., and Shirley (Jack) Jones of Morton, Ill., and brother Bob (Melissa) Drake of Jacobus, Penn.
Tom was a 1972 graduate of Morton Twp. High School in Morton, Ill., and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1976. He was vice president of Wesley and Co. in Canton, Ill., from 1976 to 1990, and Bentcil Co. in Indianapolis, Ind., from 1991 to present.
Tom was an active member of Westside Church of the Nazarene, Indianapolis, Ind., and funeral services were held there on Jan. 18, with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Ind.
