Lloyd David Mallory, 72, of Groveland, died at 9:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Oct. 12, 1940, in Stanford to Thomas and Lena (Devine) Mallory.
Surviving are two daughters, Jill (Gary) McCoy of Delavan and Penny Brennan of Plano; one son, Jason (Amy) Mallory of Florida; his grandchildren; and one sister, Lola (Don) Manahan of Mackinaw.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Betty (Hoffer) Mallory.
He worked 35 years for Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 2001 as a safety inspector at the Mossville Tech Center.
He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Heart of Illinois Fire Enthusiasts and Collectors.
He served as a fireman and EMT on the Armington Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad for 12 years. He later served 18 years on the Morton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, where he obtained the rank of Assistant Fire Chief and Chief of Rescue.
Visitation was Saturday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, followed by a celebration of life service.
Cremation will be accorded following services.
Memorials may be made to HOIFEC (for the benefit of the Illinois Central College Fire Science Scholarship Fund and Wheels O' Time Museum for the restoration of antique fire trucks).
