    The Dragons swept the Mid-Illini Conference series from the Potters with a 41-27 victory at Dawson Hawkins Gymnasium.
    Brent Waibel led Morton with seven points and added six rebounds.
    Breck Swinford had six points and six boards for the guests, while Corey Dullard also scored six.
    Jake Starkey had five points playing 28 minutes and Isaac Stephens topped the Potters with seven rebounds.
    Nathan Taphorn of Pekin shot 8-of-11 to lead all scorers with 21 points.
    The final was similar to a 43-27 Dragon win Dec. 7 at the Potterdome.

    The Potters could not overcome a 21-3 deficit after one quarter Saturday.
    The Morton (3-18, 1-9) conference losing streak reached nine games despite a game-best 20 points from Dullard.
    The Rockets, meanwhile moved into a third-place league tie with Pekin as Hank Mathews had 18 points in the team's third straight M-I win.
    Stephens finished with seven points and Nick Taylor collected five for the Potters at Vern Woosley Gymnasium.
    Morton still is searching for its first win in the 2013 portion of the season.
    Postseason picture: The Illinois High School Association Class 3A postseason pairings will be released Friday.
    Morton is part of the East Peoria Regional, which is led by Washington, ranked No. 3 in the Jan. 30 Associated Press 3A state poll.
    Against the five-team field, the Potters are 0-4.
    Morton is certain to be in a 4-5 quarterfinal matchup with East Peoria.
    Based on their Jan. 19 loss to the Raiders, the Potters could wear their road uniforms as the lower seed.
