Shirley I. Wind, 74, of Morton, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was born April 25, 1938, in Selmer, Tenn., to Foy Wade and Bessie Reed (Donahoe) Whitten.
Surviving are two daughters, Kendra Coleman of Bloomington and Karen Schumacher of Washington; one granddaughter; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two half brothers; three half sisters; two stepbrothers; four stepsisters; and her sister-in-law, Norma Sue Whitten of Stantonville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Preston Whitten; and one half brother.
She worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 26 years, retiring from the Morton Parts Distribution Center in 1998 as a cashier.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton.
A celebration of life service was held Friday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Her grandson, Dustin, was the celebrant for her service. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
