Clara Dee Lowery, 72, of Morton, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 18, 1940, in Decatur, Ala., to Robert and Clara (Roberson) Lamon. She married Clifford Lowery on April 30, 1956, in Hernando, Miss.
Surviving are her husband of Morton; her mother, Clara Harris of Decatur, Ala.; three daughters, Deb Schultz of Morton, Gina (Darrel) Haynes of Goodfield and Jamie Peterson of Morton; seven grandchildren, Abbi (Tim) Gashaw, Emily Schultz, Dennis Haynes, Megan Haynes, Luke, Noah and Logan Peterson; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Regan and Dylan Gashaw.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Eugene Lowery, and her father.
Clara worked at Witzig’s Department Store in Morton in the 1980s and later worked at Bradley University in the audio/ visual department.
She was a member of Morton United Methodist Church.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life gathering was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at her home, 761 Fillmore St., Morton.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren established at Morton Community Bank.
