If you are looking for a place to stuff your face next Thursday, the Taste of Morton might be the one of your best options. Here is a preview of what to expect from Morton's first-ever food extravaganza planned for 4 to 8 p.m. May 27 ...

Entertainment

Bill Turney, of From the Field Cooking School in Morton, and Bruce Kodatt, owner of Pumpkin Glass, said they want to make sure the first-ever Taste of Morton is a hit with visitors. And, to solidify that desire, they have lined up a family-friendly entertainment schedule. Here's what to expect:

• Cathy Reynolds – Nationally known gospel singer
• Singsations – Local youth chorus group
• Dave McDonald & Friends – Classic Folk & Rock Music
• Doug Smith of Unique Twist – The balloon guy
• Bouncy house for the kids

Vendors

Entertainment is great, but it is the food you are looking for, right? A total of 19 vendors are prepared to show what they have to offer. Below is a list of the businesses participating and the foods they expect to offer:

• Ruby Tuesdays – Fish Tacos
• From The Field Cooking School – Grilled Steak Sandwiches, Jerked Pork Skewers & Orangies
• Main Street Deli – Chili, Ham Salad Sandwiches, Potato Salad
• Heritage Farmers Market – Local Prime Angus Beef Burger, Country Style Ribs, Ground Pork Patty Sandwich. Featuring Avery Soileau – THE RAGIN’ CAJUN
• Morton Villa Care Center – Lemon Shake-Ups, Pork Chop Sandwich
• Morton Family Restaurant – Breakfast Burritos, Waffle French Toast
• The Office Tap – Kabobs, Chicken & Noodles, Pico de Gallo w/Homemade Chips, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
• RMH Foods (Rockes) – Sweet & Spicy Chicken w/Brown Rice,
• Paddy O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub & Eatery – Reuben Sandwich, Bread Pudding
• Freidalicious Authentic Panini Café – Hummus & Pita Chips, Spinach Melt, Peanut Butter Chocolate Cup

Ticket info

Turney and Kodatt said they plan to keep the event cheap. Below are the ticket prices for the May 27 event:

Advanced tickets are $20 for a group of 25 available at all the vendors, as well as The Quilt Corner.

Individual tickets are $1, $2 & $3 with no food item costing more than $3.

The Taste of Morton runs from 4 to 8 p.m. May 27, rain or shine, at the Field Shopping Center located on South Main Street near Queenwood.
