Morton Shop for Hope Saturday
The Morton Tourism Association, in support of Morton’s Relay For Life, will host a “Shop for Hope” day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Various Relay For Life teams will set up tables of their baked goods, collectables and other items for sale on Main Street and at the Field Shopping Center in front of the stores.
There will be informational materials available about the Morton Relay. Shops will be open throughout Main Street and the Field Shopping Center area, many with special sales. Some stores will be giving a donation to the Relay from the day’s sales. For more information, call Susan Pyles at 266-5135.
Morton’s Community Cleanup Day Saturday
Saturday has been set aside for a community cleanup day in Morton.
Residents will be cleaning out the debris under the trees downtown and planting flowers under the trees and in the pots around the Main and Jefferson Street areas. Bring the whole family out to help beautify the community.
The Morton Tourism Association will provide garbage bags and equipment needed to do the work. Participants might want to bring some work gloves.

Civic chorus announces Encore 2010 show
The Morton Civic Chorus, under the direction of Denise Adams, will present Encore 2010, a musical review, at the Hartmann Center Theater at Bradley University for six shows starting at 7:30 p.m. May 25 to 29 and 2 p.m. May 30. Tom and Sheryl Menold will serve as honorary chairman for this fundraising event. This year marks the 26th year in which Adams will direct the chorus. Adams is the longest-running director the chorus has had.
