• Papa Murphy fund-raiser, May 19, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Papa Murphy’s in Morton. Mention “Relay” with regular-priced food purchase and Papa’s will donate to Morton’s Relay for Life. Sponsored by Community United Church of Christ’s Relay Team.

• Basta Day, May 19, sponsored by the Relay Rockers Team. Dine-in or carry-out orders for lunch or dinner will earn the team 10 percent from each bill.

• Schwan’s Truckload Sale, May 22, 9 a.m. to 1 p,m., 300 N. Main St., Morton. Fund-raiser for all of Morton’s Relay for Life teams. Contact Sharyl at 263-7775 for a catalog.

• Second annual Pet in the Park Day on Saturday, May 29, 12 to 3 p.m., at the Oakwood Dog Park on North Main in Morton. This free afternoon will include a dog obstacle course; a raffle from 12 to 2 p.m.; and a costume contest at 1 p.m. On site registration for the costume contest will begin at noon. Categories will be Best Relay Theme (Celebrating Morton’s 10 Years of Hope), Most Patriotic, Most Original, and Funniest.

In addition, Relay for Life is also sponsoring a Precious Pet Contest. Anyone may vote for their favorite pet at Morton Kroger from May 8-26. The winner will be announced at the Pet in the Park Day following the costume contest. For more information, contact Kari Cap at 642-0988.

• 3rd Annual Relay Ride for Life & Bike Show, June 5. Approximate 80-mile “southern” ride starting in Morton and Bloomington. Route includes stops in Minier (Minier Lanes); Emden (Bulldog Inn); Green Valley (Fitz Inn);  Pekin (MacDuff’s); East Peoria (Meadows Tap); and Morton (Red Rock Bar & Grille).  Registration begins at 12 p.m. at the following locations:  Morton (Red Rock Bar & Grille, 332 Detroit Avenue, Morton) and Bloomington (Chuck’s Harley Davidson, 2027 Ireland Grove Rd., Bloomington).  Registration fee is $15/single or $20/couple (pre-registration required for T-shirt; deadline to pre-register is May 21st).   Last bike out by 1 p.m.; last bike in by 5:30 p.m. Bike Show starts at 6 p.m. Winners announced at 7 p.m. Categories include:  Custom, Vintage, Stock, Best Paint & Best of Show. Beer tasting & food: 6:30 to 9 p.m.; $20.00/person.  Food only: 6:30 to 9 p.m.; $10.00/person.  West MacQueen Street Band from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.; $5.00/person if arriving after 9 p.m. Ride is not limited to just motorcycles – everyone is welcome. Benefits American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.   Contact Sharyl at 263-7775 or Kari at 642-0988 with questions.

• A Night in the Alley…or Gutter, June 11, 7 to 9 p.m., Safari Bowl, Morton. $15 per bowl include shoes; advance ticket sales only, purchase before June 9 from Sharyl at 263-7775. Raffles, 50/50, door prizes and bowling, all to support Relay.

• BridgeWay Brigade Relay for Life Team Recycling Fundraiser. Donate your used consumer electronics and unwanted, broken or mismatched jewelry, including cell phones, laptop computers, inkjet cartridges, mp3 players, digital cameras, digital video cameras, handheld video games, GPS devices, radar detectors, electronic book reader, and gold, silver or platinum jewelry. Donations may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. 100% of the proceeds will help raise funds to fight cancer. Drop off items at BridgeWay Ministry Center; 1945 S. Main St. Suite D; Morton (North end of the Field Shopping Center).

• Community United Church of Christ's Relay For Life Team is selling the 2010 Relay For Life 4th Limited Edition Small Utility Collector's Basket this year.  The baskets are $35 each.  Contact Sharyl at 263-7775 to place an order.
