If Daryl Devore, of East Peoria, was selling drugs from his car parked at the Club Cabaret in Creve Coeur early Saturday, staff members there wanted none of it.

They reported their suspicions to officers conducting a business check. That produced discoveries of cocaine, meth and a loaded handgun in Devore’s vehicle, according to court records.

Devore, 47, was charged in court Monday with possession of the two drugs. While he was also arrested for possessing the handgun without a FOID card, a formal weapons charge has not yet been filed.

Staff members at the strip club alerted the officers shortly after 1 a.m. that Devore had made frequent trips to his vehicle after short conversations with other patrons, the village police department stated in a news release.

The officers looked inside the vehicle and, in plain view, saw a small baggy of suspected cocaine, the release stated. They asked Devore to join them and, in a search of the vehicle, found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and the handgun.

Devore was ordered held on $25,000 bond pending his arraignment on Sept. 8.
