Pekin resident Tyler Mulvey won a $700,000 Lucky Day Lotto prize when his $1 Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers – 14 - 27 - 29 - 33 - 38 – in the Monday midday drawing.

“When I realized I won, I was shocked.  I almost fainted!” he said when he presented his ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield, according to an Illinois State Lottery press release.

Mulvey plays Lucky Day Lotto once or twice a month, and always buys a Quick Pick ticket.  “I hear about big lottery winners all the time, but I never thought I would be one of them!” He bought his $700,000 winning ticket at Pottsie’s Place, 303 Margaret St., in Pekin. He plans to pay off his student loans and save the rest of the windfall to buy a house.

Pottsie’s Place received a bonus of $7,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket. More than 13,600 players won prizes ranging from $1 to $200 in this drawing.

Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week. For more information, please visitillinoislottery.com.
