EAST PEORIA — The EPCHS Marching Raiders have participated in three competitions thus far, and have already brought home multiple awards. On Sept. 9, they participated in the Marching Panther Invitational in Washington. The Marching Raiders competed in Class 5A, and won Best Percussion and 2nd Place overall. They also won the Music Shoppe Award for Best Percussion Score of all bands in classes 1A through 5A. On Sept. 16, they competed in the Morton Marching Invitational, and Pontiac Indian Showdown. In Morton, the Marching Raiders won Best Percussion, Best Winds and 1st Place Overall in Class 2A. They also won Best Percussion, Best Winds, and 2nd Place for Class 3A in Pontiac. The Marching Raiders have also performed at the EPCHS home football games, and performed with the CJHS 7th and 8th grade band students at halftime of the Sept. 15 game. They will be marching in the EPCHS Homecoming Parade on Sept. 27, performing at the Homecoming game on the 29th, and would like to invite everyone to their next competition at Limestone High School on Oct. 7. The Marching Raiders are led by; Adam Schneblin – Director, Kyle Newgard – Assistant Director, Landon Roemersberger – Percussion, Andrew Harvey – Front Ensemble, and Jessica Rogers – Color Guard.
