Pekin Garden Club will be hosting its monthly meeting at the Miller Center Monday July 2 at 6 p.m. Bob Streetmater from Luthy Botanical Gardens will be our guest speaker. The program for the evening is Garden Makeover. Public is welcome.

 

Sign and Sing Storytime

Piece it Together Puzzle Club

Youth in grades 3-6 are invited to the library for our ‘Piece it Together’ puzzle club at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, at the Pekin Public Library. The library will supply the puzzle, and kids see if they can it piece it together! Magician Rick

Teen Anime Club

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to our monthly Anime Club on Thursday, July 5, at 6 p.m. at the Pekin Public Library, where anime and manga fans can share interests, ideas, learn about the new graphic novels at the library, and enjoy anime-related activities. Illinois Bicentennial Movie Series ‘History of Pekin Railroads and Depots’

In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial, the Pekin Public Library will be showing historic local videos from our Pekin History Project.  This month’s topic, ‘History of Pekin Railroads and Depots,’ will be shown at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6. Friday Night Dance 

Bring your partner or come on your own to the Miller Center for first Friday Dance. This month Craig & Bill will be performing and we will have refreshments provided by Morningside of Pekin. All ages are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the dance is from 7-10 p.m. July 6. Fee is $7 per person at the door.

Help! I Need a Resume!

We are opening up our Training Room to help you build your resume 2 p.m., July 7. Bring your information, and we will help you create, save and print a resume, or submit one online.  This is an open lab format; come when you can. All-you-can-eat Lasagna

North Pekin AMVETS Post 169 Ladies Auxiliary will be serving all you can eat lasagna on Friday, July 6, at the Post Home, 660 Radio City Drive, Route 29. Cost of the dinner is $7 and includes salad, bread, and dessert. Serving times are 5-7 pm. Carry outs are available. The dinner is open to the public. Proceeds go to the Auxiliary’s service projects.
