The death of a 4-year-old Morton boy was ruled accidental Thursday by a Peoria County coroner's jury.

Austin R. Williams died Jan. 8 after suffering a gunshot wound to the head at a residence at 2120 W. Marquette St. in Peoria.

Peoria police Detective Keith McDaniel testified Williams was shot with a handgun that was in the possession of the boy's 5-year-old cousin when it discharged.

The cousin found the loaded gun in a bedroom and returned to the room where she, Williams and his 2-year-old cousin were playing.

Charges have not been filed against the firearm's owner, Michale J. Ulrich, who lives at the West Marquette Street address.
