Morton High School’s Future Farmers of America is having its annual Barnyard Zoo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the high school.

The barnyard zoo is designed to create an educational atmosphere where kids can learn about a variety of animals, including cows, horses, goats, baby chicks, dogs, rabbits and a snake. Displays will be placed throughout the premises that show children where their food comes from.

Also on April 24, it is the Morton FFA "Ride your horse or tractor to school day." All tractors will be on display during the Barnyard Zoo.

After viewing the animals, Morton FFA alumni will cook pork chop sandwiches, which will be sold during lunch hours. Pork chops will also be sold to the public from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Admission is free, but the FFA encourages people to bring a canned food item for the Food for America program, supported by Morton FFA.
