BridgeWay Community Church of Morton is sponsoring a Concert and Family Festival at Idlewood Park in Morton from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 5. The festival, called “Party in the Park,” will feature a worship celebration at 11 a.m. followed by free BBQ, giant inflatable games for the kids, face-painting and balloon magic.
“We have been a part of the Morton community for almost six years with a wonderful response from the residents,” said Dale Schaeffer, pastor of BridgeWay. “Party in the Park is one way that we are celebrating what God has been doing in the lives of the people of our church and community.”
According to Schaeffer, BridgeWay Community began in 2005 with just 40 people and has grown to more than 400 in attendance. Other outreaches of the church include involvement in Relay For Life, partnership with We Care in providing home repair for families in need, national disaster relief, family fun nights at Splashdown Waterpark, as well as providing weekly children’s and youth ministries.
“We really have a heart for families in Tazewell County,” said Schaeffer. “We hope that this event will be one way of demonstrating that.”
