Burress wins treasurer seat, District 2 board remains the same

Republican Mary Burress gathered more than 62 percent of Tazewell County votes for the country treasurer seat Tuesday night, beatingRuss Crawford by an overwhelming majority in the primaries.

Burress grabbed a total of 7,915 votes compared to Crawford's 4,826.

Burress, who has worked in the treasurer's office for 21 years will take the seat formerly held by Duane Gray.
