Perhaps, for the first time in my four years in Morton, I heard the reference to 'Old Morton' during a village board meeting at Freedom Hall Monday night.
The story regarding waved parking restrictions mentions Old Morton. I now realize, to some, this may be an uncommon reference.
I took the liberty of downloading a map of the business districts from the village's website and drew an outline of the aforementioned region downtown (with some shaky computer drawing skills, please forgive me).
Anyway, the image posted to left highlights the area that is considered 'Old Morton.'
I hope this clarifies any confusion.
