An inquisition was taken Feb. 9 by Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll for the body of Steven Chester Putman, 51, of 13 E. Crestwood St. in Morton.

Putman was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 4:44 p.m. Jan. 9.
Putman suffered from multisystem organ failure due to multiple blunt force injuries due to his automobile striking a fixed object Jan. 6.

His death was ruled accidental.

The report stated Putman was unrestrained and the lone occupant of the vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 74, in the left lane, and crossed over to the far right lane.

He then drifted over to the shoulder and off the road as it struck the cement wall under the University Street overpass.

The vehicle then flipped and overturned before coming to rest in the grass with Putman ejected from the vehicle, causing his injuries.
