Howard W. Bleich, 87, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died on Saturday, May 20, 2017, in the Pikes Peak Hospice Unit at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Howard was born March 29, 1930, in Roberts, Ill., to Otto and Ida Bleich. He married Ruth Virkus of Onarga, Ill., in 1958 and together they raised their daughters, first in Morton, IL, and then in Ft. Morgan, Colo., after moving there in 1973.

Survivors include his three daughters, Kimberly Bleich, Audrey Bleich (Brett Scruggs), and Deborah (Stephen) Otten; three grandchildren, Kassidy and Levi Otten, and Morgan Bleich; and one sister, Viola (the late Robert) Rowan. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Howard worked for Interlocking Fence Company & Morton Buildings Inc. for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a lifelong member of the American Legion & VFW.

Cremation rites have been accorded. His Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Cappadona Funeral Home, followed by a gathering of family & friends at Nancy Lewis Park in Colorado Springs. Howard’s memorial website is available at www.cappadonafh.com.
