WASHINGTON — Ruth Louise Yates, 79, formerly of Morton, died at 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Washington Christian Village.
Born Jan. 2, 1932, in Beaver Creek to Clyde and Mabel (Prince) Poore, she married Donald Yates April 30, 1951, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Janette Marie Yates.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Roger) McGinnis of Washington; brother, Donald Poore of Springerton; and sister, Shirley Kron of Greenback, Tenn.
She loved the Lord and loved doing things for others. She was a member of Oak Grove Bible Church in East Peoria.
Funeral services were Dec. 6 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 W. Lake Avenue in Peoria, with the Rev. Gary Smith and Hospice Chaplin Dwight Winnett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment was in Oak Grove Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria at Dec. 7.
