Evelyn M. Hoxie, 81, of Morton, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Jan. 30, 1929, in Hanover to Lee and Florence (Wadleigh) Harkness, she married Richard T. Hoxie Jan. 22, 1955, in Rochelle. He died June 14, 2005.
Also preceding her in death were one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Robert (Lana) Hoxie of Rockford; one daughter, Dana (Kurt) Weide of Oakland, Iowa; two grandchildren; and one sister, Marchetta (Floyd) Kisner of Rockford.
She worked for Shell Gas/Feeney Oil in Morton as a manager and later moved to the deli department. She then worked at Citgo in Morton until her retirement in 1997.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 318 Auxiliary in Morton and had served as a Girl Scout leader.
Services were Thursday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation was accorded following services.
