Mary Louise Kaulfuss, 66, of Morton, died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Washington Christian Village.
She was born June 12, 1944, in LaCrosse, Wis., to Harvey P. and Helen D. (Strauss) Kaulfuss.
Surviving are two sisters, Jane Replogle of Covington, Ga., and Judy Kaulfuss of Elgin; three nephews, Tim Replogle of Conyers, Ga., Steve (Gina) Replogle of Douglasville, Ga., and John (Amy) Replogle of Tremont; three great nephews, Tyler, Andrew and Benjamin Replogle; two great nieces, Rachel and Rebekkah Replogle; one aunt, Grace Strauss of Dakota, Minn.; and special friends, Diana and Ronnie Stroud, Jeri and Jerry Moreland, Sharon and Jim Ogg, Jane and Paul Grethey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Bill Replogle; and her aunts and uncles.
Mary operated a daycare home in Morton from 1972 to 2005, where she cared for more than 200 children during her career.
She was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Morton.
Mary arranged to have her body donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Chicago.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ludwig Mortuary in Morton. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Community United Church of Christ in Morton. The Rev. Jeff Johnston will officiate. A time for fellowship and lunch will be held following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Mary Louise Kaulfuss Scholarship Fund in care of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, 501 E. Daniel St., Champaign, IL 61820-6211; or to the Morton Public Library for the children’s library.
