R. Jack Worms, 82, of Morton, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born Feb. 11, 1928, in Peoria to Frank W. Sr. and Clara (Jyland) Worms, he married Barbara Kelley Oct. 26, 1952, in East Peoria. She died Sept. 14, 2009.
Surviving are one son, Douglas Worms of East Peoria; one daughter, Debbie (Mark) Hanson of Peoria; two granddaughters; and one brother, Dr. Frank W. Worms Jr. of Minneapolis.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
He was a 1960 graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, where he received his bachelor’s of science in business administration.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1985 as a price analyst.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria.
He was a member of the Fourever Fours Model A Club. He and his wife were members of the Morton Whirl-A-Ways square dance club.
Services were Friday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington. The Rev. John Bates officiated. Visitation was Thursday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton, and preceded services Friday at the church. Burial was in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 200 S. Main St., Washington, IL 61571.
