Two giants in Mid-Illini Conference volleyball collided Tuesday at Hawkins Gym and battled to the bitter end.

Limestone defeated host Pekin 21-25, 26-24, 25-22, rallying for the victory after losing the first set.

Bradley recruit Hannah Thompson once again was a standout for the defending Mid-Illini champion Dragons (14-4, 5-2) as they finished the first half of their conference schedule.

Thompson had 19 kills and 15 digs. Anna McGovern also was a tower of strength for Pekin. She had 10 kills and four blocks.

Molly Flannigan dished out 17 assists for the Dragons and Olivia Theleritis had 16 digs and three aces.

Butler recruit Brittney Robinson pounded down 15 kills for Limestone (18-3, 5-1).
Thompson and Robinson each recorded her 1,000th career kill earlier this season.

Post-season sites: The Illinois High School Association announced its tournament host sites for volleyball regionals, sectionals and supersectionals Tuesday. The IHSA will release the seeds Oct. 5 and postseason schedules Oct. 6.

• Regionals — Washington, Monmouth-Roseville
• Sectional — Galesburg
