Outlook: QND has the postseason pedigree, but the Potters have the momentum after closing out the regular season with eight victories in a row on the way to winning the Mid-Illini Conference championship. The Potters will have to get by a scrappy East Peoria side in their semifinal, though. Morton beat EP 4-3 on Sept. 26 in East Peoria.

Outlook: There’s good balance in this field, though Dunlap appears to have the edge based on record and recent performance. Owners of a 12-2-7 record, the Eagles are unbeaten in their last eight matches. Metamora and Dunlap played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 26 in Dunlap. The Redbirds also edged Richwoods 3-2 in early September.

Pairings: Tuesday – (1) Notre Dame vs. (9) Orion/Sherrard, 5 p.m.; (4) Galesburg vs. (6) Geneseo, 7 p.m.; Final – 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21.
Outlook: The Irish (16-4-0) are the heavy favorites here, where they are not only the lone team with a winning record but also owners of 11 straight regional titles. Galesburg defeated Geneseo 3-0 in its season opener back in August.

Pairings: Tuesday – (2) Normal U-High vs. (7) Limestone, 5 p.m.; (3) Washington vs. (6) Bloomington, 6:30 p.m. Final – 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.
Outlook: The host Panthers and Pioneers are both contenders in this bracket. U-High beat host Washington 3-1 in a tightly-contested match on Sept. 16. Washington ended the season with a 1-2-2 string in its last five.

Pairings: Saturday – (10) Pekin at (8) Joliet Central, 1 p.m. Wednesday – (1) Rock Island vs. Pekin-Joliet Central winner, 5 p.m.; (4) Minooka vs. (7) Joliet West, 7 p.m. Final – 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.
Outlook: At 18-2-0 and with a goal differential of plus-75 (101-26), the Rocks will be focusing on winning their first regional title against an underwhelming field with a combined record of 23-51-8. Pekin lost to the Rocks 12-0 in their regular-season finale.
