MORTON — The Morton School District will be honoring the 150 aides that work throughout District 709 on Friday, March 15. The aides meet specific needs of the students and their work is vital to the success of each student. They fill many positions throughout the school district while they support the certified teaching staff, office staff, broadcasting, music, and manage computer labs and libraries.

Aide Appreciation Day is normally March 16, the birthday of the late Amy Hardin, a much loved and respected aide at Lincoln Elementary School who tragically lost her life in an automobile accident in October, 2014. Since March 16 lies on a Saturday this year, the district will be celebrating it one day earlier.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Hill expresses his gratitude, “Aide Appreciation Day is a day to thank the aides for their service to our schools, students, and community. They play an invaluable role that ensures the schools run efficiently and the students are in a safe and productive learning environment.”

“Please thank them for their selfless service they provide each and every day.”
