DragonLand Water Park in Pekin received a “exceeds” grade on its July Operational Audit conducted last week, according to a Tuesday Pekin Park District Facebook post.

“DragonLand is audited several times per year by Jeff Ellis Associates, Inc., an International Aquatic Safety and Risk Management Consulting firm,” stated the post. “The process includes an unannounced audit, which is partially conducted without the knowledge of lifeguarding staff. Lifeguards are judged on individual lifeguarding skills as well as their rescue ready skills. Lifeguards must perform live action drills that include scenarios for spinal management and CPR.”

For the second time in a row, eight lifeguards received an “exceeds” score when individually evaluated on July 10.
