PEKIN — Pekin announced Monday afternoon they found a missing 83-year-old man.

"UPDATE: Lloyd has been located and is safe. He is awaiting the arrival of his family. Thank you to everyone who shared and reached out," the department wrote on its Facebook page.

PEKIN — Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 83-year-old man.

Lloyd Tennison was last seen at 3 a.m. Monday. The man, who wears glasses, has a noticeable bad eye and walks with a cane, stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 195 pounds and has green eyes and brown hair, according to a release from the Pekin Police Department.

Tennison may be wearing a blue or white shirt, blue jean shorts and sandals, police say. It's not known if he was wearing his habitual ball cap when he left home.

He drives a 1999 tan Mercury four-door vehicle with the Illinois license plate ZX44070. His phone was last known to be in or near Lacon.

Tennison may demonstrate signs of dementia, but has not been diagnosed with the disease, and can become agitated when confronted, police say. He takes multiple medications, including a heart medication he must take twice daily.
