Clara Madeline Knapp, 100, of Eureka, formerly of Morton, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.

She was born July 11, 1916, in Metamora to John and Mary Minger Rocke. She married Arch Knapp Oct. 12, 1940, in Eureka. Arch preceded her in death July 14, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one son, Robert (Vera) Knapp of Morton; one granddaughter, Deborah (Michael) Moffa; and one great-granddaughter, Victoria of Auburn, Ala. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Clara graduated from business college and worked as a secretary for Roofing and Supply Co. for many years. She was also active in farming with her husband.

Clara was active in the Tazewell County Farm Bureau, Tazewell County Homemakers Extension, and was also a member of Kennel Lake Sportsman Club in rural Morton.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with the Rev. Dick Hanson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Morton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, or to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Health Ministry in Washington.
