PEORIA — The annual Tournament of Champions bowling duels are ready to roll at Landmark Lanes, as central Illinois continues to recover from COVID-19.

There are safety measures in place for the 54th annual Men's, 52nd annual Women's and 49th annual Mixed tourneys when they open up in July.

Deadline to register for those tournaments is July 8.

"We'll allow no more than 10 bowlers on a pair of lanes, and a buffer pair of lanes will be kept empty between each set of competing teams," Landmark bowling manager Travis Anderson said. "We have plenty of room for spacing. We are making sure we clean everything — the ball returns, the chairs, and our staff is masked and gloved and very visible doing the cleaning.

"We want our protocols to be visible, to give customers re-assurance."

Anderson said spectators will be permitted. The Landmark venue is cleared for 50 spectators, but the space is so large that Anderson said it can easily handle more.

Spectators are encouraged to wear masks. Social distancing rules are in play for bowlers, staff and spectators. Bowlers in the competition do not have to wear masks.

Food and beverage services are up to full speed. Hand sanitizer stations and wipes dispensers are available throughout the facility.

The Men's tourney schedule:

First round: July 11-12 (1 p.m.), July 14 (6:30 p.m.), July 16 (6:30 p.m.).

Second round: July 21 and 23, both at 6:30 p.m.

Quarterfinals: July 28 (6:30 p.m.).

Final Four: July 30 (6:30 p.m.).

The Mixed tourney schedule:

Second round: July 25-26 (both at 1 p.m.).

Semifinals: July 31 (6:30 p.m.).
