Jennifer J. Smothers, of Morton, and James R. Lam, of Bloomington, were married March 2, 2013, at Evelyn Chapel in Bloomington.

Parents of the couple are Dan and Karen Smothers of Morton and Ken and Pam Lam of Brookfield, Wis.

Pastor Dave Jane performed the single ring ceremony.

The bride wore an Amy Kuschel strapless gown, rose pattern, with scalloped train and Anne Baye sash. Her bouquet was purple and ivory roses with purple ribbons.

Maid of honor was Emilie Sharum of Morton, friend of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Susan Rapp of Chicago, Jessica Howard of Chicago, and Morgan Wilson of Bloomington, sorority sisters/friends of the bride, Alli Essig of Bloomington, friend of the bride, Bridget Lam of Chicago, sister of the groom, and junior bridesmaid Mia Chejlava of Lemont, cousin of the groom.

Best man was Mike Rotsch of Bloomington, friend of the groom.

Groomsmen were Kevin Rotsch of Bloomington, Brandon Hahn of Milwaukee, Wis., and Evan Baken, Jake Nord, and Tim Sunzeri, all of Chicago, all friends of the groom.

Ushers were Justin Sharum of Morton, and Paul Sierszulski of Chicago, friends of the couple,

Flower girl was Jennah Vickers of Pekin, friend of the couple.

Ring bearer was Jaden Vickers of Pekin, friend of the couple.

A dinner/dance reception took place at Marriott Hotel in Normal, followed by a wedding trip to Punta Cana.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Morton High School and a 2010 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan, where she received a BSN in nursing with a minor in health. She is employed as a neuro nurse at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago.

The groom is a 2007 graduate of Bloomington High School and a 2011 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan, where he double majored in business and Spanish. He is employed as a consultant by Northern Trust, Chicago.

The couple lives in Chicago.
