Tazewell County is offering immunization clinics throughout December.

The clinics accept all children, 18 years and under. Immunization records are required at each clinic to ensure that the proper vaccine is given to the child.

Immunizations available at the December Immunization Clinics include: DTap, HIB, Polio, MMR, Hepatitis B, Prevnar, Hepatitis A, Meningitis and Varicella (Chicken Pox).   Gardasil is available for girls eligible for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. The fee for county residents is $8 per immunization; out of county residents will be charged $18 per immunization. Contact the health department or visit for clinic dates, times and locations.

Flu mist vaccine will be available to children, ages 2 to 18 years, at the regularly scheduled immunization clinics. The fee for county residents is $8 per flu mist; out-of-county residents will be charged $18 per child. Flu mist (nasal spray flu vaccine) has been offered for several years and can protect healthy people against the flu. Adults accompanying a child to a clinic may be eligible for a flu shot. The cost of the adult flu immunization is $30. Individuals eligible for Medicaid or Medicare Part B must bring their Medicaid or Medicare card to the clinic, as the cost of the immunizations are covered by these programs.

The immunization schedule is: from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 401 Walnut, Washington; 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Moose Lodge 916, 2605 Broadway, Pekin; 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at Freedom Hall, 349 W. Birchwood, Morton; and 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 21 at Tazewell County Health Department, 21306 Illinois Route 9, Tremont.
