Grant awarded to Curtis

AAUW’s co-presidents Patti Erwin and Kay Lindley present a $1,000 check to Kelly Curtis, a 2008 graduate of Morton High School.

The Morton Branch of the American Association of University Women awarded its 2013 Laura Fuoss Memorial Grant to Kelly Curtis.

 Curtis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Illinois State University in May 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

She is currently seeking her Master’s Degree in School Social Work from the University of Illinois.

Curtis was involved during her collegiate years with PATH (Providing Access To Help), the Boys and Girls Club in Bloomington and an internship at The Children’s Home Association of Illinois

 The Morton AAUW grant program was established in 1978 to assist women in the Morton school district who are entering or presently enrolled in a graduate degree program or working toward an advanced certificate.

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Meetings of the Morton Branch are held on the second Tuesday of each month, September through May.
