TREMONT — Robert A. Glass, 73, died at 10:02 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at his home.

Born Nov. 2, 1935, in Macon to James C. and Eunice Wise Glass, he married Martha Ann Brown Aug, 2, 1959. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Brad (Cheryl) of Dallas, Doug (Vanessa) of Minneapolis, Bill (Melissa) of Eureka, and Dan (Mary Jo) of Fernley, Nev.; one daughter, Jane Faggioli (Mike) of Wilmington, N.C.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leah Briggs of Elmendorf, Texas.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Keith.

After graduating from Millikin University in 1957, he became a math teacher at Macon High School. In 1965, he joined Caterpillar Inc. to work in data processing, and in the ensuing years worked in Decatur, East Peoria, Mossville, Peoria and Pontiac until his retirement in 1994.

Services are 11 a.m.  Friday at Tremont United Methodist Church. Pastor Chet Travis will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davis Mortuary, Tremont Chapel.  Cremation will be accorded following the service.
