Donna Kennedy Nutter, 80, of Morton, died peacefully at 2:17 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at her home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in St. Peter, Minn., to John and Jule (Young) Kennedy. She married James M. Nutter on Dec. 28, 1950, in St. Peter, Minn. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1993. She also was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary; one grandson, Sean Murphy; her parents; one brother, Jim, and one sister, Merle.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Mike) Murphy of Springfield; three sons, James (Charlene) Nutter of Morton, William (Carol) Nutter of Watseka, and Thomas (Kerry) Nutter of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren, Devin, Catie, Jim, Nicole, Chrissy, Pat, Megan, Sarah, Michael, Maggie and Jessica; three sisters, Dee (Rip) Harbour of Oak Harbor, Wash., Audrey Blaylock of Arlington, Texas, and Shirley Kennedy of St. Peter, Minn.; special friends, Kim and Tom Hobbs of Pekin; and loving neighbors.
Donna was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton; the Pine Lakes Women’s Golf League in Washington and the Women’s Birthday Club.
She was an outdoors person, who enjoyed animals and nature, and was an avid golfer and card player. She loved watching and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial Mass was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with Fr. Mark DeSutter officiating. Visitation was from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
A graveside service with burial of the cremated remains will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Peter, Minn.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton is handling arrangements.
