EUREKA — Lucille K. Knapp, 96, of Eureka, formerly of Morton, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009, at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home of Eureka.

She was born July 28, 1912 in Deer Creek Township to Henry and Rose (Smithgall) Knapp.

Surviving are one brother, Elmer (and Betty) Knapp of Henry; four nephews, Robert (and Vera) Knapp of Morton; James (and Patricia) Woerner of Bloomington, Minn; Kenneth (and Susan) Knapp of Magnolia; Gary (Jane) Knapp of Henry; six great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Arch Knapp, and one sister, Wilma Woerner.

She worked in the purchasing office at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 26 years, retiring in 1972.

Lucille was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and was a care giver to her parents.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton with Rev. Angel Taylor officiating. Visitation was from 9:30 to 10:15 prior to the services at the funeral home.

Burial was in the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
