MORTON — Timothy L. “Tim” Freitag, 49, of Morton, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009, surrounded by his family; faithful companion, Cappuccino; and friends, at his father’s home in Mapleton.

Tim was born on May 25, 1960 in Peoria, a son of Carrol B. and Bonita A. “Bonnie” (Ball) Freitag. His mother preceded him in death. He married Denise Jean DeLorme on August 27, 1983, at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. She survives.

He is also survived by his father, Carrol of Mapleton; sons, Brendan Tyler and Devin Kyle Freitag, both at home; brother, Todd (Carole) Freitag of Aurora; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Ball of Bartonville; mother and father-in-law, Glen (Janet) DeLorme of Mapleton; sister-in-law, Lynne (Bill) O’Connor of Roselle; nieces and nephews, Christian and Natalie Freitag and Kyle, Kaleigh, Keegan, Kennedy and Karson O’Connor; and his faithful buddy, Cappuccino.

Tim graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1983 and in 1986, he earned his Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

He was currently a Clinical Pharmacist for Humana Healthcare in Peoria. He was formerly the Director of Pharmacy for OSF Health Plans, the Assistant Administrator of Pharmacy Services for OSF Healthcare System and the IV Supervisor and Pharmacist for Methodist Medical Center.

Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors, especially watching his son’s play high school soccer and following their traveling soccer team. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone that needed help and was loved by all.

Tim attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, where a public Celebration of his life was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009, with the Reverend Steve Shaffer officiating. The family hosted a luncheon in The Atrium at Northwoods, following services. Visitation and interment at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s memory to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.

Tim’s family would like to thank OSF Hospice, the Certified Nursing Assistants and all caregivers for their excellent care.
