PEKIN — Mildred E. Koehler, 83, formerly of Morton, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Pekin Manor.

Born July 5, 1926, in Secor to Christian and Amelia (Sprehe) Jording, she married Robert W. Koehler Dec. 9, 1945, in Secor.

Surviving are her husband of Pekin; one son, Tom (Diana) Koehler of Warrensburg; three daughters, Linda Sue Nelms of Pekin and Janet (Joe) Hall and Nancy Stephens, both of Morton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Glen Nordholm of Decatur; and one brother, Leroy Jording of Secor.

Preceding her in death was one daughter, Dinah Nordholm on April 1, 1996, and six brothers, Alvin, Walter, Paul, Wilhart, Ben and Elmer Jording.

She attended Grace Church in Morton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton. The Rev. Rod Schertz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter; or Harbor Light Hospice Inc., both in Peoria.
