Virginia L. Camden, 76, formerly of 116 S. Louisiana St., Morton, died at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 10, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Aug. 25, 1927, in Thebs to Robert and Gala (Miller) Smith, he married Evert E. Camden July 6, 1947, in Benton. He died Feb. 8, 2010 in Pekin. 

Surviving are four sons, Robert Gene (Janice) Camden and John Stephen (Maggie) Camden, both of Pekin, Cary Matthew Camden of Bradenton, Fla., and Brooke Burnell (Angela) Camden of Marquette Heights; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty (Norris) Boswell of Southside, Ala.

She was employed as a secretary by Illinois Valley Glass for several years, later working at Quinn Mirror & Glass, both in Peoria. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morton.

Services were Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel.  The Rev. Richard Shaw officiated. Visitation was one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial of cremains was in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
