GROVELAND — Arlene B. Goins, 92, of Groveland, died at 9:21 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Yellow Rose Unit at Clarian Hospice in Indianapolis.

Born Jan. 26, 1918, in Ochiltree, Texas, to Louis and Anna (Pletcher) Rogers, she married Thomas N. Goins on March 23, 1940, in Springfield, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1984. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Jerry (Penny) Goins of Groveland; one daughter, Pat McCanns of Groveland; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pletcher (Bonnie) Rogers and Charles (Wilma) Rogers, both of Missouri; and three sisters, Pauline Ryals of Morton and Vivian (Glen) Johns and Susie (I.J.) Johns, both of Missouri.

She last worked at CILCO, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church and the AMVETS Post 169 Auxiliary in North Pekin.

She was a lifetime member and president for several years of the Brownsville Art League in Texas. She also had served as a hospital volunteer in Brownsville for many years.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church, with Rev. Jerald Rupp officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery.
