Obituary: Ella Domnick, 99, of Morton

Ella E. Domnick, 99, of Morton, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

She was born June 12, 1915, to John and Leah (Zehr) Bauman and married married Lloyd Domnick on April 27, 1940, in Bern, Kansas. He died July 9, 1999.

She also was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

She was raised on a farm in Bern, Kansas. She stayed home after the sixth grade to help on the farm and made cheese in the farm house basement, which she sold door to door. Ella grew up in the Apostolic Church and was baptized in the Mennonite Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Diana (Keith) Redman of Morton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She worked in laundry services for the United States Army during World War II. She also worked at Caterpillar Inc. and in the lingerie department of Witzig’s in Morton.

She was a member of Trinity Church in Morton. 

A visitation was held April 6 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A further visitation was held April 7 at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Doane Brubaker and Aaron Yoder. Burial  was at the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
