The Morton Junior High seventh-grade boys basketball team will play Thursday for the state title.

The Junior Potters, coached by Matt Yarcho, defeated Shorewood Troy, 38-14, and Rantoul Eater, 51-31, Saturday in Dwight in the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 4A state tournament.

Morton (26-0) needs one more win to cap off a dream season with a championship trophy.

The boys will face East St. Louis Clark (22-0) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Dwight for the 4A title.

The Junior Potters are seeking their first seventh-grade boys basketball state crown since 1990.
