Swimmers sink Torpedoes, 841-499

Morton pounded the Tremont swim team July 7, 841-499.

Led by boys triple winners Nick Monferdini and Spencer McGowan, the Otters were first in 41 individual events.

Monferdini, in the 11-12 bracket, was the top finisher in the 100 freestyle in 1:25.20, the 100 individual medley in 1:44.28 and the 50 butterfly in :44.83.

In the 13-14 category, McGowan was victorious in the 100 free in 1:07.23, the 100 IM in 1:19.97 and the 50 fly in :35.09.

Five boys and three girls were two-time winners in their home pool.

Colton Paulson (50 free, 50 fly), Austin Bradford (100 free, 100 IM), Lucas Zbinden (50 free, 100 IM), Walter Jankowski (50 free, 50 breaststroke) and Jordan Schertz (50 free, 50 fly) all triumphed twice for the boys.

Duplicating the feat for the Morton girls were: Alex Monferdini (50 free, 50 fly), Jenna Zbinden (100 IM, 50 breaststroke) and Natalie Zobrist (50 breast, 50 fly).

A slew of girls won an event including: Aspen Gordon, Macy Skinner, Grace Jankowski, Sarah McGowan, Courtney Jones, Magen Monson, Anelise Imig, Tenley Dowell, Tatiana Kindred, Claire Kraft, Regan Zobrist, Shelby Zbinden and Molly Zobrist.

Boys who produced a victory were: Cooper Kraft, Gabe Weyland, Keegan Paulson, Will McCarthy, Joe Zern and Gavin Blair.

The Otters won all 10 medley relay events against the Torpedoes.
